Conceptualizing is the First Step

I’ve done countless projects like coming up with commercials, highlighting videos, conceptualizing themes for posters, and many more. It was during these opportunities I was able to learn and harness the art of conceptualizing ideas. It took a couple of projects where I found the essence of conceptualizing an idea, seeing what works for me, and giving me the best results.
The first is coming up with an idea. Start at the drawing board and come up with a few versions. Then slowly draw closer to the perfect one that fits the client's requirements. Things like matching the color scheme of your client's brand, adding their initial ideas, or even showing them a draft of what you’ve made so far. You can have so many ideas at once but ask yourself questions that help you funnel down to the best ones.
The second is knowing your target audience. Knowing your target audience guides you in making creative decisions. Keeping them in mind helps you think about how the audience will react and feel about what you created. As artists and creatives the things we put out are meant to touch the viewer and make them feel something, so knowing your target audience will help you achieve that goal. In line with that knowing the message is another big help.
So lastly, have a clear message. Make sure you have a clear message that you want to convey to reach your audience. What story are you trying to tell? Is it something that will make your audience understand and feel your client’s movement or campaign? These simple conceptualizing development tips have helped me throughout my projects and have best delivered the outcome I was looking for from my audience. So when you start another project, try applying these tips and let me know what you think.
