Getting Up is My Win!

I’ve shared about how I made that life changing decision to study on my own but I never really explained how I’m actually doing it and what studying on my own actually entails. This program that I am currently doing, with the help of my Dad who is a school principal. The name of this program is My PCC; “Personal College Curriculum”. How I’ve gone about learning on my own has been following a curriculum that I myself put together, after much research, countless interviews, and directly messaging professionals in their field. I was able to come up with a curriculum suited for Filmmaking and Music Producing. The curriculum is composed of online courses from different teachers with set lectures to watch. The nice thing about these lectures is being able to learn at your own pace.

One of my favorite parts of the program is being able to do actual professional work! Meeting deadlines aren’t handed to my professors but to my clients. This part of the program allows me to hone the skills I’m learning and apply them to real life situations. With all that set in motion, all I needed to do was follow it.

Although to tell you honestly the process of getting it done isn't as easy as I would have thought. The process itself is simple but the difficult part is feeling lazy to do it. This was the hardest part of the process. Due to learning on my own, without any supervision, I have the responsibility to “show up to my own classes”! But what gets me through it, is one simple thing. Remembering your End-In-Mind.

Knowing I have a purpose as to why I am doing this, is one of the biggest things that has helped me get up in the morning to study. My end-in-mind drives me to continue even though I get lazy to do it. The whole process has its challenges but, it can’t account for the goal that I set and plan to head towards! Constantly doing this is a discipline, it won’t start off easy, but once you start doing it, you’ll begin to see results! So, choosing to get up has been my win everyday!
