VIRTUAL CAREER PART 03

Chapter three of the book Virtual Career, contained the topic of doubts you may have when thinking of taking on a virtual career. Mr. Hilario points out that when taking on a virtual career there are of course things you will be missing out on. Things like officemates or company parties. There is a hesitation in taking this on as a career but, he gives many great solutions to those concerns and doubts you may have. The chapter was filled with many great points and he gave each concern a solution, but what hit home to me was the idea of being unsure at the start.

Doubt is a normal emotion to have, it hits more when making a life changing decision, especially when it comes to things like your career. As for me, I relate to this, as starting on this journey of my own college course is unheard of. The starting point of this decision was filled with uncertainty, but what I feared most was wasting my time and not taking the chance to chase my dreams in the way I wanted too. A quote at the start of chapter three, by Jim Rohan opened my mind. “If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.”

Reading this quote has ushered me to go forward in this pursuit of my dream, and that even though I have my doubts about this decision, I am living a life out of the ordinary and that excites me even more!
