VIRTUAL CAREER PART 13

Chapter 13, Jomar Hilario’s final chapter in Virtual Careers. This chapter is his final words for those virtual professionals who plan to take on this journey and make this their career path. The work begins here after creating your blog, preparing your portfolio, creating your tutorials and finally uploading them to YouTube.

This chapter highlights finally getting started! Freelancing is the start of looking for clients, and where to begin is using two sites called Upwork and onlinejobs.ph. These are reliable websites were you can put up your services and it reaches International clients. Jomar Hilario kindly shares some tips and things to prepare for when creating your account.

Aside from that, his advice on preparing for rejection struck me. He shares that it’s part of what you’ll be facing. There will be times when clients can reject you or even times when you reject clients, but it’s all okay and it’s normal. He shares that in taking this journey of a virtual professional you must remember to remain open-minded and that when facing rejection or feedback look at it like you are a notebook, ready to be filled on how to become even better.

To conclude, Jomar Hilario’s book Virtual Careers guides the reader on how he or she can become a virtual professional. It’s packed with helpful tips and steps on how to become a virtual career. It’s also filled with life changed testimonies who have switched from regular office day jobs to becoming a virtual professional. I can’t count the many times each individual shared how their life had changed switching to a virtual career. The book has enlightened me and made me see the beauty of working from home and how life is really different when you have an everyday office job. It has pushed me to continue on this journey of studying on my own and soon starting my freelancing work as well.
