What a Turn of Events

When the Pandemic hit, the world was put into a stop. Everything from traveling, businesses, work life, school life and more were on hold. Every single person in the world had to take a pause and figure out what to do. It was in this “pause” I saw the positive effects of the pandemic. Many people might disagree, but you can’t deny the fact that many opportunities came out of the pandemic and one of those opportunities was bringing out the creative side of us humans.
I noticed that when humans are faced with a problem, our minds try it’s best to solve it! Just like the Earth, which had gone through very big changes from the Ice Age and etc. it’s found its way to naturally move forward and continue to grow despite the change. During this pandemic, I recently met with two couple photographers and their story was striking.
The husband and wife used to work on a cruise ship before the pandemic started, but when travel was prohibited, they had to find a way to earn money for their family. It was in this situation they found themselves with a business opportunity for a food delivery company. The husband whose hobby was taking pictures became his new career! His Wife learned and helps him out as well, and now the both of them have been working for this food delivery company for a year. They’ve shared how happy they are since they get to spend more time at home with their son, unlike when they worked on a cruise ship.
This encounter with them was short but I realized something, how a turn of events could be an amazing life change. Life is unpredictable, the situations we face may put us into a corner but I am reminded again that it’s all about switching your perspective. It’s about how I deal with the situation at hand. Am I going to let the bad situation take over me? Or will I take a deep breath and do my best to move forward.
